Spaghetti Dinner

The spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Feb 16th was a huge success. It was so well attended that they ran out of food and had to go out to get more! We are grateful for all the hard work that went into this event and want to thank Paul Baumgardner and Scott Leiser for planning and organizing the fundraiser, the First Christian Church and its members for all their hard work and use of their facilities, the Square-D Corporation for underwriting the cost of the food, and thanks to everyone who attended the dinner. Several people who could not attend, like Laurie & Dave and Kathleen Kasper, sent in checks. Brandon's family and relatives were well represented, as were many of Karin's friends from Milroy. Tim & Linda made the trip with Cliff & Chris Forsythe. The amount raised at tonight's dinner far exceeded the goal set by the organizers.

Karin has used up 2/3rds of her NTAF Transplant Fund and
she needs your help holding fund raisers to replenish needed financial resources.

Smaller items can be combined with other items to make one prize.

A new Pittsburgh friend of Karin's family has volunteered to hold a candy sale fundraiser to help with Karin's post-op expenses. She will order boxes of Sarris quality chocolate covered pretzels and bars that can be sold for $1.00 each. Sarris has been voted "Pittsburgh's Best Chocolate" eleven years in a row!

They offer four different candy bars to choose from:
peanut butter, milk chocolate, crispy, almond and chocolate covered pretzel rods.
They all come 24 to a case. They do not come assorted but of course that could be done by ordering multiple cases and doing it yourself or if you want fewer than 4 we can do that for you.

Since "Grammy" is a Pittsburgh-based acquaintance we thought there may be some Pittsburgh or Milroy area family or friends who would join her by taking several boxes of each kind to the work place, local dry cleaner's, barber or beauty shops, church, school, doctor's offices, recreation fields, etc. Contact Karin's father, Tim Marks, to arrange for pick-up and obtain a promotional flyer to display with the candy bars:skid@embarqmail.com.  It is a pretty easy way to raise a few dollars to defray Karin and Brandon's medical expenses and every little bit helps.
